Object size: approx. 42,000 square meters Characteristic: The construction of the new "Metro" Company Shopping Center on Poznan - Franowo area. On the basis of frequently stated critical voices abort existing the huge shopping center, M1 in Poznan is an exception. Almost everyone accordingly admit that the location of this shopping center is an huge advantage. In neighbourhood of M1Shoppping Center Poznan Franowo arised also IKEA (design by PENTEGRAM) and CARREFOUR multi-spaced store (former Jumbo). In the opening moment, on November 11th 1998, M1 was the biggest shopping center in Poznan and one of the biggest in Poland. The object is situated on 22 ha building lot, located on south - east part of Poznan, beyond the 3rd city road bypass which is actually still in planning. Condition of its realization was to create necessary transport and technical infrastructures on this particularly area. According to this purpose, the whole project was divided on few "packages", which were realized on different rules, as an private investment, public or private-public partnership. Despite of lack the clear rules in late 90's concerning Private - Public Partnership, all enterprises were successfully realized, with huge share of good will of all involvement subjects, including City of Poznan, Investor and all consulting, designing, executoring companies. In the final result of this cooperation not only The M1 Shopping Center were created, but also many public investment on heavy importance, for example: construction of the 3rd city ring road, construction of the 1st phase of transport junction includes road viaduct over Krzywoustego Street, construction of the 1st phase transport junction over Szwajcarska Street, construction of the double roadway section of Majakowskiego Street to the intersection with the 3rd city ring road, modernization of the Szwajcarska Street, construction of Szwedzka Street and overall extention and ordering of the public underground utility services on the area of Franowo and neighbouring fragment of Rataje District. The M1 Shopping Center is covered, one - storey building, only fragmentary the second storey is present as a form of mezzanine used as office, social and technical space. The front elevation of the building is over 300 meter long, contains double retail gallery accessible from three entrance and multi-spaced 'REAL', 'Praktiker' and 'Media Markt' stories. At the back-yard are warehouses and social-technical spaces. The building is fully accessible to the disabled persons. Year of build: 1996 - 1998 |
