Location: Warszawa, Jerozolimskie Avenue / Krucza Street - "Smyk" Department Store Investor: McDonald's Polska Range of Services: Architectural Design, Structural Design, Author's Supervision. Object size: approx. 900 square meters Characteristic: Adaptation of a part of the ground floor and mezzanine in the famous "Smyk" Department Store, recognized as one of the most famous works of polish post-war modernisim, for McDonald's Restaurant. The project required strenghenigh of the reinforced concrete structure which had been seriously damaged by vibrations caused by underground railroad line. Design concept required acceptance of Prof. Ignatowicz, the author of the building, to changes the front elevation. It was the fourth McDonald's investment in Poland and the first one in Warsaw fully designed by polish architects and engineers. Year of build: 1992-1993 |
